As a member of the emerging markets investment team, Sunil works closely with portfolio managers and research analysts to uncover attractive investment opportunities with a primary focus on the Consumer Discretionary, Technology, and Financial sectors. Sunil’s ten years of experience working in the technology industry gives him a deep understanding of the companies he is analyzing, and his insights from growing up and currently living in India bring invaluable insights to the team. Sunil is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.

Prior Work Experience

Sunil was an emerging markets research analyst at Trilogy Global Advisors. Sunil came on board GW&K when Trilogy’s emerging markets team joined the firm in 2019. Previously Sunil spent time covering emerging market equities and U.S. micro-cap technology companies at previous investment firms. Prior to entering the investment industry, Sunil worked at Cisco Systems as a hardware engineer involved in designing high-end routers, and at Sun Microsystems as a chip design engineer. He holds three technology patents.


Sunil earned a BTech degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and has an MS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He also earned an MBA with honors from Columbia Business School in 2010 where he was a member of the Applied Value Investing program. Sunil is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Orlando. He is fluent in Hindi.
