GW&K Investment Management Celebrates 50 Years of Excellence

BOSTON, MA – July 17, 2024

GW&K Investment Management (GW&K), an entrepreneurial-driven investment management firm offering active equity and fixed-income investment solutions to meet the needs of a diverse client base, is pleased to announce the commemoration of its 50th anniversary this year.

In reflecting on this key milestone, Harold Kotler, chairman and a founder of the firm said, “For 50 years, the firm has successfully helped its clients invest confidently over a broad spectrum of economic cycles, periods of market volatility and an ever-evolving investment landscape. It would not be possible to reach this milestone without the clients who have put their trust in us and the talented professionals and staff of GW&K. Looking back over all we have achieved, I could not be more proud of the firm we have become.”

Founded in 1974, the firm initially offered just three investment strategies, including what became GW&K’s flagship intermediate municipal bond strategy. The firm’s success with this strategy quickly established GW&K as a recognized market leader and pioneer in municipal bond investing. In 2008, the firm entered into a strategic partnership with AMG (NYSE: AMG), which continues to provide GW&K with enhanced distribution capabilities, new product expansion opportunities, and additional resources.

As the firm grew, its position as a leader in asset management was solidified. As of June 30, the firm was supported by 176 employees and over $51 billion in assets under management across 26 actively managed equity and fixed income strategies for both retail and institutional clients.

“Throughout its history, the firm has been keenly focused on helping clients in the pursuit of their investment objectives with best-in-class client service, while fostering an especially strong entrepreneurial and collegial corporate culture,” Tom Powers and Bill Roberts, co-CEOs, said in a joint statement. “While no one knows what the next 50 years hold, we look forward to the triumphs, challenges, and opportunities it will bring.”
