GW&K Investment Management Announces Retirement of Mary Kane

BOSTON, MA – October 21, 2025 – GW&K Investment Management (GW&K), an entrepreneurial-driven investment management firm offering active equity and fixed-income investment solutions to meet the needs of a diverse client base, today announced that Mary Kane, Partner and Taxable Bond Portfolio Manager, will retire effective September 30, 2026.

“For two decades, Mary has been a driving force in growing our taxable bond offerings and cultivating a high-performing team,” said Tom Powers, co-CEO of the firm. “Her leadership has fostered innovation, strengthened client relationships, and helped ensure a culture of integrity and excellence. We wish Mary the best in her retirement.”

Kane, who joined the firm in 2005, was named Partner in 2011. Over that period, she has overseen the implementation and execution of all GW&K’s taxable fixed income and mutual fund strategies, from portfolio construction and research to trading. During her tenure, the firm’s taxable bond strategies have grown from $718 million to over $6 billion. Kane will continue to contribute to strategic decision-making as a member of the firm’s Investment, Responsible Investment, and Global Allocation Committees.

GW&K’s investment decision-making process, which is firmly rooted in a collaborative team approach, will remain in place following Kane’s retirement. Brett Kozlowski, who joined the firm as Portfolio Manager in February 2025, brings extensive experience and will play a key role in continuing the team’s strategic investment process. The taxable bond team is comprised of 13 investment professionals averaging 23 years of experience and 13 years with GW&K.

Kane graduated cum laude from Wheaton College where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. She received her Master of Business Administration from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. Kane is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Boston.

Kozlowski earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Boston.
