Responsibilities

Harold is one of the firm’s original partners and serves as GW&K’s Founder-Chairman. Upon joining the firm in 1975, Harold was the architect and chief strategist of the firm’s innovative flagship municipal bond investment strategy. He was named President in 1985 and became CEO in 2006. Through his leadership, GW&K has expanded its expertise across asset classes to fully serve our client base. Harold chairs GW&K’s weekly Investment Committee offering important macro perspectives and challenging the discussion among our investment professionals. He is also a member of GW&K’s Executive and Management Committees.

Prior Work Experience

Harold was previously a vice president of the U.S. Trust Co., Boston; president of Barclay Asset Management Co., an advisory affiliate of U.S. Trust; and vice president of Studley Shupert & Co., Inc., Boston. Early in his career, he was an investment officer with the Newton Waltham Bank.

Education / Affiliations

Harold received a BS/BA from Babson College in 1965. He is a CFA® charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society Boston.

Harold has been an active supporter of numerous philanthropic organizations throughout his life. Presently Harold serves as a trustee of Hebrew Senior Life and is a trustee emeritus of the Boch Center. Previously Harold was: a board member and served as chair of the board of trustees of Hebrew College; on the Advisory Board of the Cutler Center at Babson College; chairman of the board of the Jewish Memorial Hospital, president of Temple Beth Elohim in Wellesley, MA; board member and treasurer of the Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters; trustee of Hebrew Union College; and board member of The Rashi School and Babson College.
