Melissa serves as the firm’s subject matter expert in several areas of strategic wealth planning for GW&K’s individual investors. With over twenty years of direct advisory experience, she has a deep understanding of wealth accumulation and planning techniques. Melissa works directly with our clients, as well as relationship and investment advisors, to provide advice and a collaborative experience on several topics including tax, estate, trust, philanthropic, and individual wealth planning.
Prior to joining GW&K, Melissa was the associate director of fiduciary services at Goulston & Storrs, P.C. where she managed a team of 15 consisting of trust administrators, family office specialists, operations personnel, and investment advisors. Melissa’s prior experience includes working in trust departments within banks and financial service firms. Previously, she was a senior vice president/regional fiduciary advisor at US Trust, Bank of America, N.A., and a senior vice president, Chief Operating Officer at First Financial Trust. Melissa was also a senior trust officer at Wilmer Hale, responsible for assisting clients with a myriad of transactions involving insurance matters, real estate, charitable and individual gift programs, loans, financial projections and asset transfers. Her career began in the research department at LPL Financial Services, where she assisted individual investors and brokers in reviewing, designing and creating financial plans.
Melissa received her JD from Suffolk University Law School, with a concentration in tax law and her BS in criminal justice from Florida State University.
Melissa is a member on the Boston Estate Planning Council, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the Boston Bar Association.
Families are fascinating and often complicated entities.
