Melissa Jacoby Joins GW&K Investment Management as Wealth Strategist

BOSTON, MA – October 12, 2021 – GW&K Investment Management (GW&K), an entrepreneurial-driven investment management firm offering active equity and fixed-income investment solutions to meet the needs of a diverse client base, today announced that it is continuing the expansion of its Private Wealth Management team with the hiring of Melissa Jacoby as Wealth Strategist.

Jacoby will report to Dan Fasciano, who joined the firm in June as Director, Private Wealth Management. Both hires are major steps forward in expanding the firm’s already unique wealth management capabilities and expertise.

Thomas Powers, Partner and Co-President of GW&K, said, “We see Melissa and Dan as superb additions to our Private Wealth Management team. This is an especially exciting time for us to welcome them, particularly as we see a sharper focus on retirement planning and the tax-efficient transfer of inter-generational wealth as baby boomers age and retire. We have no doubt that Melissa and Dan’s expertise and fresh perspectives will further enhance our reputation for offering best in class private wealth solutions, something we have been a leader in since GW&K’s inception, nearly 50 years ago.”

As Wealth Strategist, a newly created position at GW&K, Jacoby brings more than two decades of direct advisory experience as an expert on strategies for wealth accumulation and preservation, as well as tax, estate, trust, philanthropic and innovative wealth planning solutions.

Prior to joining GW&K in Boston, Jacoby was the Associate Director of Fiduciary Services at Goulston & Storrs, P.C., where she had overall responsibility for a team of trust administrators, family office specialists, operations personnel and investment advisors. Before that, she was a Senior Vice President and Regional Fiduciary Advisor at US Trust, Bank of America, N.A., and a Senior Vice President, Chief Operating Officer at First Financial Trust, N.A. Previously, she was a Senior Trust Officer and a member of the Private Client Group and Tax Department at Wilmer Hale. She began her career at LPL Financial Services where she assisted individual investors and brokers in reviewing, designing and creating financial plans.

Jacoby earned a Juris Doctor degree from Suffolk University Law School, with a concentration in tax law, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida State University. In addition, she is a member of the Boston Estate Planning Council, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and the Boston Bar Association.
